Unpleasant Surprise
1993 - The Fear EP
Genre: New/No Wave, Post Punk, Experimental
Label: Irre Tapes (GER)
Next part of my serie of "gone music from my teen years" or so :).
This was introduced to me, by a friend 15 years ago, on tape. Never get this out of my mind and today a get a digital rip by a friend and here it is: Unpleasant Surprise. Again no further information beside the discogs listing.
This EP is kind of Post New/No Wave - sparse instrumentation - guitar, drums, piano, synth, bit violine scratchings and lot of reverb.
The Flight sounds a bit like a soundtrack for Airports (not Eno :)).
The 7" was released by Irre Tapes, a very important label since the eighties, for the underground, DIY tape scene. I think he struggles in some weird actions of early anti-piracy-measures. Stupid story as I remember right. ok...
Let it unpleasant surprise you...
