J.H. Guraj – Underrated Glances At The Edge Of Town

J.H. Guraj is the alter ego of Dominique Vaccaro from Bologna, Italy. In the past he was working as a visual artist and electro-acoustic musician in the field of musique concrète with analog devices and tape recorders or playing in the avant-blues project BeMyDelay of Italian singer and guitarist Marcella Riccardi.

He got socialized by his father’s blues & rock’n’roll record collection and 30 years later he found back to playing guitar. Transforming the blues with his sensibility for sound, space and improvisations.

Underrated Glances At The Edge Of Town wanders down the path created by Takoma & Vanguard guitar legends with a renewed perspective, a fire in the belly sweat drenched soul, not afraid to soak in cultures from far away in order to build a new sense of home and belonging. This is highly improvised music that takes risks, breathes, lives and dies like any human navigating this complex mysterious world we live in.

Guraj’s operates between the abstract, improvised space blues of artists like Norberto Lobo and Jon Collin and the folk informed fingerstyle guitar of Marisa Anderson, who he was supporting on her current tour through Italy.
