Sacred Harp - Green Alum Springs (2007)

Genre: Appalachian Folk/Noise
Label: ?

I can't get enough of these young guys, playing old-time guitar music. Daniel Bachman as Sacred Harp was featured before with his beautiful Apparitions at the Kenmore Plantation record, full of great finger-style guitar and droning ragas. This release is an older tape. More experimental and noisy, with radio/tv cut-ups, feedback, rumblings and lot of tape hiss, but these elements are mostly just wrapped around Bachman's great finger-style guitar or banjo.
It's a great mixture which breaths the old-time lofi sounds of wax cylinder recordings and common lofi experiments
